Isaac Carroll Marley, age 72, of Currie passed peacefully from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at his home.

He was born July 21, 1938 in Wilmington, the son of the late Robert Kemp and Blannie Wheeler Marley. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Barnhill and brothers, George, Paul and Ivey Marley.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 51 years, Dorothy Faye Spencer Marley; son, Isaac Roy Marley (Frankie) of Currie; daughter, Angela Faye Midgette (Travis) of Currie; grandchildren, Isaac R. "Rock" Marley, Jr.(Janet), William Travis "T. J.\\" Midgette, Jr. and Tabitha Midgette Clark (Chris); and three great grandchildren; brothers, Ray Marley of Advance, Clyde Marley of Richmond, VA and Johnny "J. T.\\" Marley (Pat) of Castle Hayne; sisters, Hazel Mills of Chesapeake, VA and Eunice Small (Jeff) of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.

Isaac was retired after 17 years from Babcock & Wilcox Co. and after 10 years from Corning Inc. He cherished his family above all else and was a devoted husband and loving daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend. A passion of Isaac's was go cart racing with Roy and watching NASCAR races. One of the things he enjoyed most in his life was the family camping trips they took when Roy and Angela were children. The light of his life was his grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately called him Grandpa and Papa. His industrious manner, warm personality and gentle spirit are cherished and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Reverend Rocky Myrick officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Casketbearers will be Kenneth Mills, Mark Bowen, Jeffrey Small, Travis Midgette, T. J. Midgette, and Rock Marley. Honorary bearer will be Olen Barnhill.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
