Obituary

Isabell Henderson Stoddard, age 81, of Wallace left this earthly life for her new home in Heaven on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. She was at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.

Mrs. Stoddard was born May 10, 1932 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Tate and Sarah Isabell Savage Henderson. She was predeceased by her husband and father of her children, Wilbur Norwood Foy, Sr.; a son, Wilbur Norwood Foy, Jr. and brothers, Claude Henderson and Marion Henderson.

She was a dedicated member of Wallace First Assembly of God Church as long as her health permitted.

Mrs. Stoddard is survived by her faithful husband, Oliver P. Stoddard of Wallace; her loving son, James W. Foy and fiancé, Brenda Miller of Wallace; grandchildren, Zachary James Foy and Mary Melissa Foy; great grandson, Luke; sister, Aileen Henderson Moore of Wallace; brother, Durwood Fisher and wife, Amber of Magnolia and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bell as she was affectionately known, was a kind-hearted and generous woman who loved her family dearly, especially her son, James. With an unwavering commitment to live by God's Word, she was a great example to all who knew her. Bell was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. She was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her. Bell will be remembered for her love for family and friends and her steadfast faith in God.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Riverview Memorial Park with Pastor Leo Bracken and the Reverend Durwood Fisher officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.

Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
