Annie Isabelle Collins Hoey, age 81, of Wilmington died Friday, March 14, 2008 at her home.

She was born July 31, 1926 in Burgaw and was the daughter of the late James Henry Collins and Mary Esther Blanchard Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John "Johnny" Patrick Hoey; daughter, Margaret "Meg" Ann Hoey Bellafiore; sisters, Evelyn Cumbee and Hilda Collins; and brothers, Charles Collins, Edwin Collins, Norman Collins and Graham Collins.

For many years Isabelle and her husband lived in Long Island, New York where they owned and operated a Guard Dog Security Company. In the late 70's after Johnny passed away Isabelle moved to Wilmington where she remained until her death.

Isabelle was an avid nature lover and had pet squirrels, birds and a stray cat that she fed regularly. She was a charming lady who prided herself on her independence and being a good sister and friend.

Surviving are her sister, Mary Edna Hufham of Rocky Point; granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Bellafiore of Alpine, Calif.; son-in-law, Henry "Hank" Bellafiore of Alpine, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
