Iva Mae Couch, age 90, of Rocky Point and formerly of Alabama died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Britthaven of NorthChase.

Iva was the last living of ten children born August 4, 1920 in Winfield, Alabama to Willie Delmer and Prudence Louella Mays Loden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dodson C. Couch, Sr. and her son, Dodson C. Couch, Jr.

Iva is survived by her grandchildren, Alisa Couch Gilliand of Burgaw, Jason Couch of Rocky Point, Danny Couch of Franklinville and Bryan Couch of Atmore, Alabama and several great grandchildren.

Iva Mae loved her family dearly and was a wonderful grandmother. Her grandchildren have the best memories of her telling them bedtime stories; some funny, some scary, but all with happy endings. She also was the first to teach and play board games with her grandchildren. Iva loved being outdoors in God's beautiful world - gardening and fishing were her very favorite pastimes. She created a home filled with happiness and was an excellent cook and good homemaker. Cherished memories of Iva Mae will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Roy Brewton officiating.
