Jackie Sandlin, Sr., age 78, of Leland, NC passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Brunswick Cove Living Center in Winnabow, NC.

He was born on June 13, 1945 in Onslow County, NC to the late Lance Sandlin and Rillie Leary Sandlin.

Jackie was an amazing cook who enjoyed watching dirt track racing. He also loved listening to Elvis. Most of all, Jackie loved spending time with his family. He was a bright light to many people, and he will be dearly missed.

Jackie is survived by his son, Jackie Sandlin, Jr. (Wendy); step-sons, Earl Farmer and Scott Farmer (Tracie); daughter, Crystal Nicole Sandlin; step-daughter, Renee Mote (Tony); sisters, Bobbi Ann Snyder and Arlene Norris; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Murial Alberta Haney Sandlin; sisters, Katie Wynn and Mary Sandlin; twin brother, Billy Sandlin; and brothers, Henry Sandlin and Lance Sandlin, Jr.

A private interment will be at Prosper Baptist Church Cemetery in Delco, NC.
