Jacob Ray Dew, age 18, of Willard passed from his earthly life on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his home.

He was born December 17, 1994 in Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leslie and Dixie Dew.

Jacob is survived by his father, Brent Dew of Willard; mother, Sharon Maness of Wilmington; grandparents, Arnold and Barbara Maness of Aberdeen; aunts, Brenda Mullen (Robert) of Wake Forest, Bobbie Whitley (Larry) of Leland, and Debbie Boyd (Thomas) of Wilmington; uncle, Gary Faw of Durham; many cousins, extended family and friends.

Jacob was a member of Moores Creek Baptist Church. He was a senior at Pender High School where he excelled as lineman (offense and defense) on the football team and was affectionately called "Big Baby". Weight lifting and music were two of Jacob's favorite pastimes. He possessed a keen intellect, sharp wit, engaging personality and had many loyal friends at Pender High. Jacob, big in statue and big in heart was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service for our beloved Jacob will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Pender High School Gymasium, 5380 NC Hwy 53 West, Burgaw NC 28425. The Rev. Philip Eakins will conduct the service.
