Jacob Henry "Pete"
Dixon
Aug 26, 1929 — Feb 19, 2013
Jacob Henry "Pete" Dixon, age 83, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on February 19, 2013 from Treasure Coast Hospice Center in Fort Pierce, Florida.
He was born August 26, 1929 in Rose Hill and was one of ten children of the late Jacob Benjamin and Mae Young Dixon. He was also predeceased by his sons, Carl Dixon and Jimmy Dixon; his brother, Leroy Dixon and sisters, Virginia Long, Flavi Albertson, Edna Dixon, Gladys Dixon and Adell Cubert.
Mr. Dixon served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and attended Oak Dale PFWB Church.
Surviving to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 42 years, Eleanor Sholar Dixon; daughter, Nancy Maready (Timmy) of Harrells; sons, Joe Dixon, Billy Dixon (Vicki) and Brian Dixon (Tammy), all of Wallace; brother, Jimmy Dixon (Gail) of Rose Hill; sisters, Nellie Barnhill (Joe) of Chinquapin, and Judy Dixon of Wallace and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pete, as he was affectionately called, was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother. He loved to travel and enjoyed making his winter home in Florida where he enjoyed new and old friends. With a keen sense of humor, Pete could tell as many jokes as one had time to listen. No matter what was said to him, he always would come back with an answer or comment. He was never speechless. Pete was a simple man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Pete.
