Obituary

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, heaven gained one of the greatest angels ever, James Daniel "Danny" DeBose, age 81, of Wilmington, NC.

He was born on September 4, 1942 in Duplin County, NC to the late Robert Grady DeBose and Lillie Mae Corbett DeBose Sidbury.

Danny was raised in Atkinson and moved to Castle Hayne in 1965. He worked at GE in Wilmington for 39 years. Danny was a member of Northside Church in Wilmington, and he was always involved in the Church. He loved the Lord, his family and his church. Danny was loved deeply by his family and he will be dearly missed.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nellie "Nell" DeBose; son, Kevin DeBose; daughter, Pamela "Pam" Noecker; grandchildren, Slade Noecker (Erin), Alexis Salak (Evan), Sloane Noecker, Smanatha Bree DeBose, and Dillon Cohen; great-grandchild, Lilja Grace Noecker; puppy dogs, JoJo, Abby, and Ziggy; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Woodcock, Daphne Rackley, LaVerne Woodcock, and Carolyn Rhodes; and brothers, Robert DeBose and Dennis DeBose.

A memorial service will be held at Northside Church, 2501 N. College Road, Wilmington, NC 28405 on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 2:00pm with Pastor Kenny Chinn, Pastor Rob Strickland, and Pastor Mike Morley officiating. A visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service.
