James Bryant Elixson, Jr., 74, passed peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 5, 1952 in Duplin County, the son of James Bryant Elixson, Sr. and Reba Hardee Elixson. In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara McLaughlin, David Elixson, and Reba Phillips.

James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Champion Elixson; daughter, Jenifer Cumming (Jim); son, Joshua Bryant Elixson (Priscella); grandchildren, Bryant Elixson, Reeve Cumming, Rylee Elixson, Cole Cumming, and Abygail Elixson; sister, Edna Moore (Edward); brother, Jimmy Elixson (Hilda); and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be scheduled soon at Shiloh Baptist Church.
