James Maurice Gee, 90, of Wilmington died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at his home.
He was born June 29, 1919 in Charlotte County, Virginia to Edward Morris and Mabel Liggen Gee. Also remembered are his beloved wife of 65 years, Ethel Travis Gee; sister, Eloise Myers and brother, Jackson Edward Gee.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Courtney and Alfreda Gee of Burgaw; granddaughter, Arie Marae Gee of Burgaw; and several nieces and nephews.
James was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WW II.
Jimmie lived a Christian life which set fine example for family and friends. In years past Jimmie and Courtney enjoyed many hours of fishing and hunting. Jimmie was a diligent worker and loved the outdoors as was evidenced by his immaculate yard. The most important things in Jimmie's life were his faith in God and his beloved family. Fond memories of Jimmie will always remain in our hearts.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Temple Baptist Church with The Rev. E. C. Mattocks officiating. Prior to the funeral service on Sunday the family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 p.m. in the Temple Baptist Church Parlor.
Graveside service and burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery in Keysville, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Temple Baptist Church, 1801 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28403 or to Ash Camp Baptist Church, PO Box 56, Keysville, VA 23947.
