James S. Godbey, 31 of Castle Hayne passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Joan Brooks, paternal grandparents Judy Godbey Card and Paul "James" Godbey.

James is survived by his mother Rebecca Thompson and husband Tom, father Keith Godbey and wife Mary, a sister Elise Thompson, and a lifelong friend like a brother, Roman Long.

He attended Laney High School, graduated from Davie High School and attended Cape Fear Community College. James loved sports, loved his dogs Bentley and Mercy and was UNC fan.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 1:00 -2:00 pm at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM.
