James “Jim” Alva Bloodworth, 80, passed from his earthly life Thursday, September 17, 2026.

He was born January 26, 1946 in Wilmington, the son of Jessie Wilson Bloodworth and Wilma Clements Bloodworth both who preceded Jim in death.

Jim is survived by his wife, Susan Hicks Bloodworth; son, Roben Bloodworth; daughter, Wendi Bloodworth; grandchildren, James, Matthew, John, Emily, and Jessica; brother, Jessie W. “Buck” Bloodworth, Jr., Timothy “Robbie” Bloodworth (Bonnie), and William “Bill” Bloodworth (Madeleyn); sister, Elizabeth “Bebe” Melvin; and many nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Bloodworth Cemetery in Rocky Point with Pastor James Demmel conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
