James "Jimmy" Earl Thomas, 80, of Rocky Point, NC passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Wilmington, NC on November 16, 1943, to the late Harold Osborn Thomas and Mildred Lee (Gray) Thomas.

Jimmy was the proud owner/operator of J.E. Thomas Plumbing for over 30 successful years. He also enjoyed traveling, boating, spending time with his "lake family" and watching Westerns.

James is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Pamela (Amerson) Thomas; daughter Kelly Thomas; sister, Ethel Singles, grandchildren; Sierra Thomas, Sydney Thomas, Sabella Thomas, Sophia Thomas, Chris Pierce, Greg Thomas, April Thomas; and four great grandchildren. Also, surviving him is his beloved dog, Beau.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Scott Thomas and brothers; Eugene Thomas and Harold Osborn Thomas, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jimmy's memory to Northside Church or Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Kenny Chinn officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. A private interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington.
