James Robert Moore died on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the North Carolina Cancer Hospital, in Chapel Hill.

Born on March 11, 1952 in Burgaw, NC, he is the son of Aileen Henderson Moore and the late Jack Moore of Wallace.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Crawley Moore of Wallace; his daughter, Stacey Moore of Wallace; his son, Courtney Moore and fiancé Chantal von Alvensleben of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brothers, Jack Wayne Moore of Wallace, Michael Moore of Cary; mother-in-law, Maggie Pearl Rivenbark Crawley; brother-in-law Brett Crawley and wife Donna; Bitsy, Mr. Woof, Sadie, Poco, Jumpurr, Smokey and Weensie Purrl.

A celebration of the life of Jimmy Moore will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20 at Wallace Presbyterian Church, officiated by family friend, Reverend Phillip Gladden. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall, immediately following the service.

In remembrance of Jimmy's love of nature and animals, the family suggests that you feed the birds, rescue a dog or cat, plant a tree or make a donation to Pet Friends of Duplin County - PO Box 152, Wallace, NC 28466 - in his memory. Stacey and Courtney pointed out that their dad would have liked that a lot.
