James "Jim" Raeford Robinson, 85, of Burgaw passed peacefully into the glory of his heavenly home on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

He was born April 15, 1936 in Sampson County, the son of the late Ira James Robinson and Gleva Wallace Hobbs Robinson.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret S. Robinson; daughters, Kim R. Canter (Eddie) and Robin R. Hawkins (Lee); grandchildren, Keleigh May (Joe), Rachel  Deschenes (Thomas), Jordan Hamilton, and Justin Hamilton (Lexie); great grandchildren, Tucker, Rosie and Lucy; brother, Bobby Robinson; sister, Debby Robinson; several special nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends.

Jim was a long time faithful and active member of Burgaw Baptist Church where he served in many capacities through the years. He retired after working for NC Department of Transportation for 38 years.

Jim was a true Southern gentleman filled with Godly faith,  integrity, and love for his fellowman. He was one of the guiding forces in getting Matthew 25 Center in Burgaw built. Jim always stressed the importance of GOD, FAMILY and COUNTRY and lived his life accordingly. His presence in our family circle, in our church family and in our community will surely be missed.

A drive-thru visitation will be at Burgaw Cemetery on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 beginning at 12 noon with a graveside service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny Justice conducting the service.

Favorite frequently read scripture of Jim and Margaret's is I Corinthians 13:4-8.
