James Donald Wells, 65, of Watha passed from his earthly life on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his home.

He was born June 5, 1948 in Pender County to James Loyd Wells and Irene Duet Padgett. Also remembered is his wife, Kathy Bernice Wells who preceded Donald in death.

Donald is survived by his son, Robbie Wells (LeeAnn) of Burgaw; granddaughters, Samantha Wells, Leah Wells and Ashley Codding; brother, Bobby C. Gideons, Jr. (Tammy) of Willard; sister, Vanessa Watkins of Wallace and many aunts, nieces, and nephews.

Donald served his country honorably in the US Navy and was retired from KoSa Chemical Plant. He loved his family and was diligent worker. He loved the beauty of nature, the call of the forest and the river as he spent many treasured hours hunting and fishing. Donald will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A gathering of family and all friends will be 10 to 12 noon on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
