Jamie Darlene Spearman, 57, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
She was born on November 23, 1961 in Duplin County and was the daughter of Nellie Moore Spearman of Teachey and the late James Thomas Spearman. In addition to her father, Jamie was also predeceased by her grandson, Ayden Thomas Cavenaugh.
Jamie was a member of Wallace Church of God in Teachey.
She leaves behind in addition to her mother, Stephen Cavenaugh of Wallace; her devoted children, Seth Cavenaugh, Meghan Cavenaugh, both of Wallace and Corey Cavenaugh of Pittsfield, MA; grandchildren, Hailey Nicole Cavenaugh and Ava Grace Hollingsworth; sister, Sharon Collins and husband, Robert of Battleboro, NC; brother, Thomas Spearman, Sr. and wife, Connie of Teachey; niece, Ashton Spearman Johnson; nephew, Thomas Spearman, Jr.; aunts, Lucille, Nancy, Carolyn, Betty, Mary, Liz; her aunt Kathy, who always saw her as a daughter; uncle, Sam; special cousin, Michael Moore of Wilmington; special friend, Mary League; numerous extended family and friends who loved Jamie dearly and was loved in return by her.
Jamie was a loving mother, grandmother as well as a caring daughter and sister. She found great joy in the simplest of things in life, but her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, loved the beach and all types of animals. Christmas time was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed the bright lights and the joy that Christmas brings. With a heart of compassion, Jamie taught those who loved her to love each other. She was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. Jamie will surely be missed but cherish memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Jamie's favorite Bible verse is Psalm 91: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Wallace Church of God in Teachey, NC with Pastor Todd Narron and the Reverend William "Bill" Braswell officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Wallace Church of God.
