Jane Hester Campbell, age 65, of Burgaw died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at her home.

She was born July 15, 1942 in Bladenboro and was the daughter of the late Robert Clyde and Cora Cain Hester.

Ms. Campbell was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Burgaw. She was a hair stylist and worked for many years in Burgaw.

Surviving are her daughter, Melody Dukes of Burgaw; grandsons, Brandon Dukes and Ryan Dukes; sister, Molly Woodcock of Atkinson; brother, Robert Hester and wife, Chung of Columbus, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pam Futch, Barbara Davis, Betty Phelps, Marcella Waters and Jeanie Burnett.

Jane loved her family dearly and showed it in many ways. She was a gifted artist and her oil paintings reflect her love of God's beauty in nature. Her love of the seashore was also expressed in much of her art work. Family and many people in the Burgaw area are blessed to have one of Jane's paintings. Jane will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm heart and beautiful smile.

A memorial service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Lawrence Baietti officiating.

Jane's cremated remains were placed in St. Mary's Episcopal Church Memorial Garden.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts at Jane's request may be given to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, PO Box 841, Burgaw, NC 28425 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, 725-A Wellington Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403.
