Janet Faye Sanders, age 72, of Hampstead died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

She was born January 8, 1937 in New Hanover County, the daughter of the late Jacob A. and Hazel Gaynell Futch Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Allen Ray Sanders, Sr.

Surviving are her brothers, John Sanders, Sr. (Christine) of Hampstead and Billy Sanders, Sr. (Pamela) of Hampstead and several nieces and nephews.

Faye was employed with Tom's Drug Store in Wilmington for over forty years. She was a faithful member of Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church.

Faye loved her family dearly and as long as she was able she was the caregiver for many of her family. Her beautiful smile, the delicious meals she cooked, devotion to her family, and her steadfast faith will always be remembered.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Woodhouse officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery.
