Janice "Jan" Northcott Williams, beloved mom, grandma, and great grandma passed away at home on Saturday, June 10, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born March 9, 1932 in Edenton. Jan was preceded in death by her sister, Bradley Sutton; her mother, Ella Mae Romano; and her husband, Sonny Williams.

Jan was a member of Burgaw Baptist Church and a longtime loved employee of Reades Restaurant. She loved working in the yard, listening to Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, and enjoying a good meal with her loving family. Jan was a great cook, delighting her family with specialties such as fried chicken, pork salad, and cherry cheesecake. The joyous Thanksgiving gatherings that she hosted were a family tradition for nearly 50 years.

Jan is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Joy and Allen Merritt of Marion, NC; Linda and Tom Hayes of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and Donna and Jim Enright of Chapel Hill, NC;  brother, Frank Northcott; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Doug Humphrey will conduct the service.

A private family burial will follow.
