Janice Arvilla Louise Jones, 52, of Watha was granted her angel wings on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Her final days were spent doing the things she loved most such as spending time with her family.

She was born June 18, 1960 in Ingham, Michigan, the daughter of Ethel Allen June McVean Northrop Lindsey of California and the late Emery Richard Northrop.

In addition to her mother Janice is survived by husband of 18 years, Douglas "Doug" Allen Jones; children, Mandy Flores (Cesar) of Watha, Dave Ledbetter of Nags Head, Shane Ledbetter of Michigan, Michael Jones (Aliza) and Justin Jones (Torey) both of Maine; eight grandchildren; sisters, Sue Northrop, Robin Crites, Zoe Garcia, Beth Larson and Donna Butcher; brother, Ralph Lee Crites; and many nieces and nephews.

Janice was a devoted wife and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She found great joy in the simplest things, but her greatest joy was her beloved family. She was a lover of flowers, gardening, fishing and all of God's creations. Everyone who knew her were impressed by her feistiness and indomitable spirit. Janice fought her illness the same way she lived her life, with an internal strength and sense of purpose, never giving up hope. Her radiant smile, gentle spirit and warm heart will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be held at Cedar Fork Baptist Church with day and time to be announced.
