Obituary

Janice Duncan Sibbett, 66, of Wilmington passed peacefully from her earthly life on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at her home.

She was born August 11, 1948 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Leroy and Margie Lowery Duncan. Janice was also preceded in death by her brother, Houston Ward and sister, Doris "Faye" Green.

Janice is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Grady Sibbett, Jr.; daughters, Jenny Hobbs (Gordon) of Greenville, Jill Melton (Jeff) of Sunset Beach, and Janet Borneman (James) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Brittany Bradford (James), Rachel Hobbs, Kathleen Melton, Abigail Melton, Duncan Borneman, Matthew Borneman and Grant Borneman; brother, Jimmie Duncan of Ashdown, Arkansas and sister, Patricia Nance of Supply.

Janice was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.

Not only was Janice a beloved wife and wonderful mother and grandmother, but a caring friend. She was a patriotic lady, so proud to be an American. Janice will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for family and her steadfast faith in her Lord.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Knolls and Pastor Jim Herchenhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Sammy Sibbett, Jr., Brent Sibbett, Daniel Sibbett, Timmy Green, Andy Green and Bradley Smith.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12 noon until hour of the service.
