Janice \\"Jan\\" Lorraine
Sullivan
September 8, 2011
With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of our beloved Janice Lorraine Sullivan of Rocky Point, North Carolina who passed from this world on Sept 8, 2011.
She was the cherished wife of John Patrick Sullivan, loving mother of Nissa Hinks (Scott) of Round Lake Park, Illinois, Kara Sturdevant (Noah) of Temecula, California, Eric Petersen of Illinois, Bridget Danford (Thomas) of Rocky Point, North Carolina, Michael J. Sullivan of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Rebecca Borca (Vinnie) of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Adoring grandmother of Caitlin, Alexis, Melayna and Cinneide Hinks, Daniel and Chase Sturdevant, Cameron, Emma and Jackson Danford, and Azalyn Borca. Devoted sister of Warren Rudnick (Karen) and Sue Rudnick. In addition, Jan will be missed by her large extended family, countless friends, and numerous colleagues.
Jan dedicated her life to her family, God, her career as a RN and helping the least fortunate through her medical missionary work. Jan graduated from St. Francis University with a BS in healthcare management. Jan worked as a critical care nurse for over 30 years, saving countless lives. For the past three years she worked as a helicopter critical care flight nurse at Eastcare in Greenville, NC. Janice taught many emergency care classes to nurses and paramedics. She volunteered for more than a dozen trips to Guatemala with Hearts in Motion, a medical mission organization. Janice loved her many animals, including horses, llamas, tiny goats, dogs and cats. Jan was a devout Christian and trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She attended Port City Community Church in Wilmington, NC, where she volunteered on the host team. God broke the mold when He created Jan, because He didn't want too many perfect people in heaven.
