Obituary

Jefferson "Jeff" Ray Conrad, age 50, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Wallace died unexpectedly Thursday, January 8, 2009, in Orlando.

Born June 12, 1958, he was the son of Janet Stallings Conrad of Rocky Point and formerly of Wallace and the late Ordie O. Conrad, Jr.. He was also predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Marie Murray and Marion Stallings; paternal grandparents, Agnes and Ray Light and Ordie Conrad, Sr. and nephew, Bruce White.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his brothers, Paul Conrad (Barbara) of Hudson, FL, and Ordie Conrad III of Rocky Point; sisters, Cheryl Conrad White (Jan) of Rocky Point, Debora Conrad Thomas (Chris) of Raleigh, Anita Conrad Benton (Charles) of Wilmington; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Jessica, of Connecticut.

Jeff attended Wallace Rose Hill High School in Teachey and James Sprunt Community College in Kenansville. He was a member of Poston Baptist Church in Wallace. At age 14, Jeff was the youngest DJ in North Carolina working at WEGG Radio Station in Rose Hill. While living in the Raleigh\\\\Cary area, Jeff operated his own business in the video game industry. By trade he was a skilled welder, having worked on the D.H. Hill Library at NCSU. He also held certification in HVAC maintenance and worked as an auctioneer.

The family will receive friends Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw, one hour prior to the funeral service. At other times the family will be at 350 Porter's Lane, Rocky Point.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. J. C. Thompson-Young officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

Casketbearers will be Jan White, Chris Thomas, Charles Benton, Joe Stallings, Eric Stallings and Jeff Murray.
