Obituary

Jeridith Paul Blanton, 44, of Teachey passed from this life to his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 6, 2019.

He was born on August 21, 1975 in  New Hanover County, NC to Roy L. and Diane Blanton of Wallace.  Jeridith was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Sarah Blanton; maternal grandparents, Johnnie Clarence and Annie Helen Rivenbark; sister-in-law, Britni Zarin and uncles, Jimmy Bowen and Dean Rivenbark.

In addition to his parents, Jeridith is survived by his wife of 19 years, Andrea Zarin Blanton of the home, son, Tyler Zane Blanton, brother, Darrell (Amber) Blanton; mother-in-law, Karen R. (Emil) Schaller; father-in-law, Bud (Patti) Zarin; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Michael) Wert and Casie (John) Paredes; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Elizabeth) Schaller and Michael (Jon) Zarin; nieces and nephews, Madison Wert, Brady Blanton, Luke Schaller, Aiden Schaller and Katelyn Schaller; aunts, Cathy Bowen, Gloria Blanton, JoAnn Rivenbark; numerous extended family and friends that loved him dearly and his canine companion, Hunter.

Jeridith was brought up in the Wallace Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He was employed with Social Security Administration for 8 years. He then made a career change and worked for Duplin County Sheriff Department and with Wallace Police Department until he had to take medical retirement.  Jeridith  was also a member of Teachey Fire Department.

Jeridith loved with his whole heart and always considered others before himself.    He would give the shirt off his back to anyone he knew in need.   With  a deep love and passion for southern gospel music, Jeridith began singing at a young age and later in life became owner and operator of Southern Song Promotion where he promoted concerts and built websites for numerous businesses.   He enjoyed traveling, planning cruises and trips to different places. During the years of his promoting Jeridith acquired numerous friends that loved him and encouraged  him during his illness.  To those of you, around home and all over the United States,  he truly loved you.   Jeridith enjoyed umpiring with Duplin County Little League when his health permitted. But more than anything, Jeridith loved Andrea and Tyler more than life itself.  Jeridith's passing leaves a big hole in our hearts.  He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Memorial service will be 3:00 pm Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Wallace Chapel with Jeridith's good friend, Reverend Sammy Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 5:00 pm.
