Jerry Wayne Barnhill, age 58, of Rocky Point passed peacefully from this earth on Monday, June 25, 2012 at his home.

He was born August 24, 1953 in Davidson County, son of the late Clifton Blair and Helen Marshall Barnhill.

Surviving is his loving wife of 29 years, Regina Anderson Barnhill; children, Pamela Mintz (Craig), Clifton Barnhill, Stacey Barnhill, all of Rocky Point; Kevin Donald and Karen King, both of Raleigh; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sisters, Sandra Sneeden (Russell) of Atkinson, Laurie Gray (Ed) of Hampstead, Hope Barnhill of Wallace, Faith Gore of Wilmington and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was a member of Rocky Point Baptist church.

Jerry was a devoted husband and loving daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend who loved his family with all his heart. He lived his life with joy in his heart and thought of each day as a gift from God. All of God's creatures were special to Jerry and that was evident by the many animals he cared for. Jerry's family is grateful to God for his life and for every kindness shown to them during the years of Jerry's illness. Jerry was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Elbert Bradshaw and the Rev. Ryan Minkler officiating.

Burial will follow in Redrick Cemetery in Rocky Point.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
