Jerry Wynell Futreal, 81, of Rocky Point passed gently from her earthly life Friday, December 11, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Rocky Point.

She was born October 25, 1939, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Hiram Autin and Sallie Ward Sharpe.  In addition to her parents, Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Futreal; sister, Jeanine Schlichter.

Jerry is survived by her loving children, Laree "Sissy" Hendricks and husband, William, Hiram Lee Grier and Leon Ward Grier and his wife, Carol, Nita Lanier and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Kalyn Saunders and husband, Justin, Joshua Tyler Hendricks, Leon Ward Grier, Jr. and wife, Lindsay, Naomi Ruth Grier, Lisa Cook and husband, Tom, Jennifer Leigh Galler and husband, Roland and Terry Lanier, Jr.

Jerry found great fulfillment in living life to the fullest.  She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed all kinds of music and dancing.  With an outgoing, witty personality she saw laughter as the best medicine and found pleasure in bringing joy to others.  Always giving of herself sacrificially, she loved her family and friends well.  Fond memories of Jerry will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Due to national health concerns the family will be holding services at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and in memory and honor of Jerry, memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
