Rocky Point- Jerry Pridgen, age 69, on Monday, April 28, 2008 surrounded by his loving family passed from this earth to his eternal home.

He was born August 6, 1938 in Pender County, the son of the late Archie Roger Pridgen, Sr. and Mary Katherine Pridgen. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, A. R. Pridgen, Jr. and Donald Pridgen.

Mr. Pridgen was owner and operator of Jerry's Barber Shop for over 40 years. He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship.

Jerry was a devoted and loving husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend who will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched. In addition to caring for his family, his passions in life were gardening and fishing. His courage as he battled a formidable disease and his appreciation he and his family had for his caregivers, Sherri, Linda and Phyllis were an inspiration to all.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Jeannette W. Pridgen; daughter, Carmel Anderson (Butler); sons, Wade Pridgen (Kim) and Kirk Pridgen (Renee`) all of Rocky Point; grandchildren, Brett Anderson, Makenzie Pridgen, Kayla Pridgen, Casey Pridgen, Cameron Pridgen, and Justin Pridgen; sisters, Bernice Moore (Oliver), Ann Guyton (Jimmy) and Faye Woodcock; brothers, Paul Pridgen (Emily), Harold Pridgen (Menzette), Bradford Pridgen, Harvey Pridgen, Alton Pridgen and Kenneth Pridgen; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Allen McKeithan officiating.

Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington.

Casketbearers will be Brett Anderson, Cameron Pridgen, Todd Meeks, Roy Lee Woodcock, Mitchell Woodcock, and Wayne Page.

Honorary bearers will be Bishop Creech, Ellen Bradshaw, Ronald Batts and Nolen Brown.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

Flowers are welcome and memorial gifts may be given to Victory Christian Fellowship, 12646 US Hwy 117 S, Rocky Point, NC 28457.
