Jesse "Wayne" Houston, age 74, of Campobello, SC passed away on March 6, 2023.

He was born on September 27, 1948 in Clayton, GA to the late Roy James Houston and Carrie White Houston.

Wayne proudly served as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam Comat Veteran who was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Wayne liked to travel the world with his wife, Sue, often visiting their children serving abroad in the military. Wayne had many hobbies including diving, hunting, fishing, golfing, and flying radio-controlled planes, helicopters, and drones. Most of all, Wayne loved his grandchildren and his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sue Mashburn Houston; sons, Brian Houston (Somer) and Adam Houston (Kelly); brothers, Willie Houston (Shelby) and David Houston; sister, Carolyn DeLong (Harold); twin-sister, Elaine Shepherd (John); and grandchildren, Aiden Houston, Liam Houston, Finn Houston, Kinsley Houston, Ethan Houston, and Emelyn Houston.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Longview Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.
