Jewell Tiderman Mills, age 85, of Wallace died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Mills was born on February 9, 1928 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Edward and Hattie Giddeons Tiderman. She was also predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Elwood Joseph Mills and brothers, Charles Tiderman and John Henry Giddeons.

Surviving are her sons, Joseph Wayne Mills and wife, Peggy and Dennis Wade Mills and wife, Karen, all of Wallace; granddaughter, Amanda Mills Evans and husband, James; great grandchildren, Felecity Evans, Joshua Evans and Devin Evans; sister, Evelyn Mobley of Wallace and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Riverview Memorial Park with the Reverend Buddy Dowd officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Elwood and Jewell Mills.

Jewell was a devoted wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her family dearly and was always there for each of them. Jewell was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and working in her yard. A hard worker, Jewell saw that her family was taken care of long as her health permitted. Jewell will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
