He was born February 21, 1939 in Duplin County; the son of the late C.J. and Ella Gaylor Peterson.

Jimmy was owner and operator of A.C. Hall Hardware of Wallace. He served his country honorably in the US National Guard and served his community as a fireman for 13 years with Wallace Fire Department. Jimmy was a member of Wallace United Methodist Church and associate member of Chapel by the Bay in Surf City.

Hall of Durham, Myril P. Garner of Wilmington and Vickey P. Blackburn (Graham) of Warsaw; special friend, Connor Chafin; his loving canine companion, "Carly" and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Jimmy was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed the simplest things in life but his greatest joy was his family. Jimmy was a hard worker who worked long hours working his business and providing for his family. Being a people person, he enjoyed spending time with friends and no one was ever a stranger to him.
