Jimmy was retired after 30 years as an enforcement officer with NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Also, he was a retired Pender County farmer. Gideons International where he had served as a state officer was near and dear to Jimmy's heart. Wherever Jimmy and Mamie lived they found a church home which currently was Friendly Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson.

Jimmy was loved by many and was the BEST husband, daddy, granddaddy, great granddaddy, uncle, and friend.  His passing closes an entire generation of himself and his siblings.  Jimmy was known best for his wisdom, thoughtfulness, generosity, humility, and for his unending devotion to his family, loyalty to friends, and faithful service to his Lord.
