Joan Boyles Davis, 73, of Hampstead passed gently from her earthly life on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her daughter's home in Hallsboro.

She was born July 7, 1940 in High Point, the daughter of the late Bera Amos and Florence Sheets Boyles. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis B. Collier.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Julie Ward; son, Bill Davis; grandson, Trey Ward and brother-in-law, David Collier.

Joan loved her family and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved the beach, collecting sea shells, classical music and her dog Joelle. Cherished memories of Joan will forever remain in our hearts.

Memorial service will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Danny Justice officiating and will receive friends following the service.

The family will also receive friends at the home of Bill Davis, 603 Hughes Road in Hampstead, 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
