After a long and hard battle with heart problems, John Timothy "Timmy" Blanton, 55, of Wallace passed from this life way too soon on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

Timmy was born on December 12, 1967 in Pender County, NC and was the son of Faye Murray Blanton of Wallace and the late Charles D Blanton.  He was also predeceased by his sister, Jean Murray Wheeler.

Timmy was a 1985 high school graduate of Pender High School and employed with Sonic System of Castle Hayne for several years.

Surviving to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, is his devoted wife of 22 years, Kaye Herring Blanton of their home; children, Sabrina Kelly Register of Princeton and Robert Todd Derby of Dudley; granchildren, Caleb Parker and Dakota Parker; brother, Charles Blanton, Jr. and wife, Melinda of Wallace; sister, Nancy B. Jackson and husband, James of Wallace; special friend, James Dowtin of Wallace; his canine companion, Who he adored, "Bobo" and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Timmy dearly.

Timmy was a good husband and caring father, son and brother.  He was a very simple man who enjoyed the simpliest things in life, but his greatest joy was family.  He was a big jokster who loved to laugh and make others laugh with him.  In his earlier years, Timmy enjoyed playing baseball and traveling to different places to play ball.  He enjoyed fishing, but his passion was hunting.  Timmy was a kind and gentle loving man who loved others.  During his years at Sonic Systems, Timmy developed many long lasting friendships and many became like family to him.  Most of all,  loved his family, especially his wife and mother. He enjoyed spending time with each of them.  Timmy will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Timmy.

Graveside funeral service will be held at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery Tuesday, January 10, 2023 with James Jackson (brother-in-law) speaking.

The family will receive friends at the home of James and Nancy Jackson, 4606 Englishtown Road, Wallace, NC 28466.
