John \\"Johnny\\" Adolph McCommas Jr., age 53 of Burgaw died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at his home.

He was born August 6, 1954 in Harnett County and was the son of Elma White McCommas of Burgaw and the late John A. McCommas, Sr. He was also preceded in death by death by his wife, Patricia McCommas and his sister, Susan McCommas.

Mr. McCommas was a member of Burgaw Baptist Church.

Surviving are his mother, Elma White McCommas of Burgaw; step-sons, Nathan Joseph Stevens of the home and Johnathan Curry Pyles of Clarksville, Tennessee; step-granddaughter, Skyler Pyles; sisters, Sara Bryant and her husband, Clayton of Rose Hill, Ann VerMeulen of Riverside, California, and Elizabeth Biagiotti and her husband, Matt of Loudonville, New York; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Gizmo.

The family will receive friends in Burgaw Baptist Church Sanctuary on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral service. At other times the family will be at the home of Elma McCommas.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Burgaw Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro.

Casketbearers will be Jonathan Bryant, Robert VerMeulen, Steve Wood, Josh McCartney, Matt Biagiotti and Clayton Bryant.
