John Curtiss Montgomery, age 75, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on August 30, 1948 in Baltimore, MD to the late John Daniel Montgomery and Ruth Rice Montgomery.

John was the owner of Top Job Cleaning and Building Maintenance in Wilmington for over 34 years. He loved eating seafood and playing golf. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family. He was a bright light to many, and he will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his wife, Diane Blanton Montgomery; sons, Curt Montgomery, Joe Schoo (Jenny) and Jon Schoo (Julie); daughters, Laura Knowles (David) and Michelle McNish; sisters, Brenda James (Dixon) and Gloria Heddrick (Jerry); grandchildren, Dylan McNish, Reese Royal, Caroline Knowles, Shanna Knowles, Zach Schoo and Jeffery Schoo; nephew, Rob Heddrick; niece, Jennifer Smith; and special friend, Annette Costa.

A memorial service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Arnold Griffin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in memory of John may be made to a local animal rescue of your choice.
