John James Pickett, age 62, of Rocky point died Friday, March 26, 2010 at New Hanover Regional medical Center.

He was born July 18, 1947 in Pender County and was the son of the late John Robert and Edna Blanton Pickett.

James is survived by his brothers, Clyde Pickett and Carlton Pickett both of Rocky Point; and many cousins.

James was a man with a quiet manner who loved his family and was loved in return. He had made his home with his brother, Clyde for the past 20 years.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Denise Jones officiating. Following the memorial service the family will receive friends.
