John Patrick Redmond III, 78, of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

He was born on September 12, 1947, in Seattle, Washington, to the late John Patrick Redmond II and the late Mable Olsen.

John, a proud US Army Veteran, was a huge sports fan and his favorite NFL teams were the Seahawks and Steelers. He was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins. John loved to drink wine, chill out and relax. He will be deeply missed by his family and all that knew him.

John is survived by his daughters, Carli Crabtree and husband, John, Kim Mounts; the mother of his children, Christine Redmond; his brother, Lou Redmond; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Crabtree Martin, Monica Mounts; his great grandchildren, Blake Martin, Justice Mcorkum; his nephews, Mu Redmond, Jin Redmond; and his best friends, The Mad Dogs.

Military Honors and Inurnment in the Veterans Memorial Reef will take place next year.
