Johnny H. Cavanaugh, 80 of Wilmington passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCareCenter.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lottie Barnes, Walter and Debbie Cavanaugh who raised him since infancy, son in law Eddie Clemmons, and his wife Velva Wells Cavanaugh.

Johnny is survived by his daughters Deborah Clemmons and Johnnie Head, four grandchildren Wayne Head, Jr and wife Melissa, Crystal Willett and husband Greg, Bubba Clemmons, James Head and wife Tiffany, eight great grandchildren, sister Elizabeth Cahoon and a host of other relatives.
He loved camping at Camp Clearwater at White Lake and cooking. Johnny drove a tractor trailer for 47 years.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 18, 2014. Interment Prospect Cemetery, Wilmington.
