Jonathan Marion Brown, Jr., age 69, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, November 25, 2013 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 1, 1944 in Duplin County; the son of the late Jonathan Marion Brown, Sr. and Theoria Parker Brown. He was also predeceased by his brother, George R. Brown.

Surviving is his wife, Delores Ann Ramsey Brown; his daughter, Deborah Brown Todd of Wallace; grandchildren, Tangela Causey (Jason) and Ashley Todd; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Jerrell W. Brown (Pat) of Wallace, Jimmy C. Brown (Brenda) of Johnson City, TN and Bobby Brown (Donnie) of Willard; sister, Marie Carter (Coy) of Wallace; sister-in-law, Ruth J. Brown of Rocky Point; best friend and canine companion, "King" and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

J.M. was a man who found great joy in simple things, but his greatest joy was family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed making and flying kites, loved animals and loved to laugh and to make other's laugh. Everyone who knew J.M. loved him and was loved in return. J.M. will surely be missed but will never be forgotten.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ronald Ginn officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Wednesday, one hour prior the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

Since J.M. was a great lover of animals, the family request that memorial gifts be given to Duplin County Humane Society, PO Box 88, Kenansville, NC 28349.
