Joseph "Joe" Glenn
Dixon
Oct 15, 1963 — May 1, 2014
Joseph "Joe" Glenn Dixon, age 50, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
He was born October 15, 1963 in Duplin County, the son of Eleanor Sholar Dixon of Wallace and the late Jacob Henry "Pete" Dixon. He was also predeceased by his son, Jonathan Wayne Dixon and brother, Jimmy Dixon.
Joe served his country honorably in the US Navy for 8½ years and during that time he served in Desert Storm. He attended Oak Dale PFWB Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory in addition to his devoted mother, is his loving daughter, Rachael Dixon of Henryville, Indiana; his brothers, Billy Dixon and wife, Vicki and Brian Dixon and wife, Tammy, all of Wallace and numerous children who rode Joe's school bus throughout the years.
Joe was a loving father and caring son and brother who loved his family dearly. Being a man with a big heart and love for others, Joe was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He especially enjoyed driving the school bus and taking care of the school children. He was a great example to them as he not only drove their bus, but showed them compassion and kindness. Joe was a simple man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Joe.
