Joseph Thomas "Tommy" Edmondson, age 62, of Four Oaks died Monday, August 2, 2010 at SECU Hospice House of Smithfield.

Born September 1, 1947 in Tarboro, he was the son of the late Joseph Thomas Edmondson and Grace Rivenbark Edmondson Hollins. He was predeceased by his wife, Winifred Florence Edmonson and brother, Berry Lewis.

Surviving are his daughter, Suzie Edmondson of Norfolk, Virginia; step-children, Wendy Williamson of Dunn, Ernest M. Williamson of Burgaw and James F. Williamson of Kinston; grandchildren, Joshua Williamson and Anna Gail Williamson; brother, David Jacobs of Gordonsville, Virginia; sisters, Cathy Jo Gray of Suffolk, Virginia, Amber Ogert of Chesapeake, Virginia, Melba Joyce Dupree of Smithfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tommy was a devoted husband and caring daddy, granddaddy, brother and uncle. He had a keen sense of humor and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Cherished memories of Tommy will forever remain in our heart.

Graveside funeral service will be 4:00 pm Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Gurganious Family Cemetery with Evangelist Dan McArtan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, one hour prior the service at the cemetery.
