Obituary

Joseph Franklin "Lynn" Kelly, 58, of Willard passed from his earthly life on Monday evening, November 5, 2018 at his home.

He was born May 17, 1960 in Pender County, the son of the late Beatrice Rivenbark Spender. Also lovingly remembered are Lynn's grandparents who raised him, Joe and Alice Rivenbark, who preceded Lynn in death.

Lynn is survived by his beloved family, wife of 38 years, Melanie Miller Kelley; daughter, Heather Kelley (Owen Rivenbark); sisters, Tina Mikitis and Edna Earl Wade; brother, Michael Mikitis; several nieces, nephews and extended family, all who loved Lynn.

He excelled in his career of automotive body repair as he was gifted to be able to fix most anything. He loved fixing damaged cars, making them look all new and gleaming. In his younger years Lynn proudly served several years in the US Army.

Lynn was a joy to meet and know as he never met a stranger, had a great sense of humor, and a heartwarming laugh. Enjoying God's great outdoors, Lynn was a deer hunter and loved nothing better than seeing a big buck in the woods. Special to Lynn was his constant canine companion, Sugar. Most important and love of his life was Lynn's dear family. In addition to all of his achievements Lynn enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Lynn's passing from this earth will leave an empty place in our home and in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Long Bluff Hunting Club, Canetuck Road, Currie, NC.
