Obituary

Joseph "Buster" Hoyette Peterson, age 62, of Burgaw passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

He was born September 17, 1950 in Sampson County and was the son of the late George Peterson and Ellen Taylor Peterson Sanderson. He was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas Peterson.

Surviving are Buster's loving daughters, Cynthia Pate and husband, Jarred of Pikeville, Victoria Mobley of Burgaw, Melissa Vega of Wilmington, Jackie Tadeo and husband, Jose of Kenansville and April Trujillo and husband, Justin of Wilmington; grandchildren, Brandy, Shay, Austin, Spencer, Tommy, Steven, Michael, Justin, John, Kaitlyn, Megan, Nathan and Gloria; sister, Reba Herring; numerous extended family and many friends.

Joseph was employed with National Gypsum Company in Wilmington for 25 years.

Buster, as he was affectionately called, was a caring father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was very talented with his hands and could fix almost anything. Buster enjoyed auctions, history, and classical music. With his witty and humorous personality, he loved to laugh and make others laugh also. Buster will surely be missed, but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Gary Manning officiating.
