Joseph Lee Turner, age 85, of Wallace passed from this life to his eternal rest on Friday, October 22, 2021 from Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

He was born on July 12, 1936 in Lenoir County, NC; the son of the late Wayne A. and Annie Bradshaw Turner. Mr. Turner was also predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Judith Cavenaugh Turner; his son, Randall Lee Turner and his brothers, Wayne Turner, Jr. and Erroll Turner.

Mr. Turner proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his devoted daughter, Karen Hall and husband, Billy of Willow Springs, NC; grandchildren, Scott Turner and wife, Sandra, Jonathan Turner, Alexsandra Lubell and husband, David, Amret Moore and husband, Robert and Erin Hall; great grandchildren, Chloe Turner, John Lee Turner, Blake Garner, Kamryn Hall, and Bentley Hall; sisters, Patricia Strickland and husband, Gene of Wilmington and Taffy Rivenbark of Wilmington and numerous extended family and freinds that loved Joseph dearly.

Joe, as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather and brother.   He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life.  Although Joe never farmed himself, he enjoyed living in the country where farming was a great part of his life.  Joe enjoyed fishing and hunting and being in the great outdoors. Most of all, Joe loved his family and his community.  He was a hard worker during his working years.  He was employed with Pender County as an electrical inspector until retirement.  Joe will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Jacob Cavenaugh Cemetery, S. NC Hwy 41, Wallace, NC with Joe's son-in-law, the Reverend Billy Hall officiating.
