Juanita Louise Burriss, age 54, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

She was born on November 28, 1967 in Berlin, Germany to James Franklin Mays and the late Madeline (Cruz) Mays.

Juanita was a devout Christian who listened to NTEB church online. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines and snow globes. Most of all, Juanita loved her family and The Lord. She was a bright light to many people and will be dearly missed.

Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Thomas Newton Burriss, Jr.; daughter, Tonya Michele Sanders; sons, Thomas Newton Burriss III and James Henry Burriss; father, James Franklin Mays; siblings, Robert Wayne Mays and wife, Sara, Ronald Sterling Mays and wife, Lorraine, and Linda Marie Lohman and husband, John.

Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Madeline (Cruz) Mays.
