Juanita Sumner Teachey, 83, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from a tragic auto accident.
She was born on November 21, 1933 in Columbus County and was the daughter of the late Joe and Bertha Bradshaw Sumner. Also lovingly remembered is her husband, Myron Earl "Bud" Teachey who passed on March 26, 2017 and her grandson, Eric Teachey who passed in May, 2015. She was also predeceased by her sister, Alene Smith and brothers, Leo Deboise and James Deboise.
Juanita was a faithful member of Island Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving is her loving children, Leatha Pack of Rose Hill, Dwight Teachey and wife, Karla of Murrells Inlet and Herschel Teachey and wife, Judy of Rose Hill and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved Juanita dearly.
Juanita was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace, "an instrument of God's love on this earth." She was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to those who were blessed to know her. Juanita enjoyed playing cards, gardening and going to the mountains. Juanita enjoyed cooking and she especially enjoyed cooking for her family. In her younger days, she enjoyed riding rides and dancing. Juanita's love was unconditional and absolute. She was always there when her family needed her. Juanita will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Island Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Ronald Ginn officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Little Creek Cemetery on Hanchey Road, Wallace.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00pm, on Thursday, one hour prior the service at the church.
