Judith Elizabeth Culbreth, 79, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Davis Health Care Center.

She was born April 28, 1943 in Greenville County, SC, the daughter of Judson Grady Culbreth and Doris Hamilton Culbreth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Culbreth.

Judith is survived by her son, Martin Perez and his wife, Faith; grandchildren, Tabitha Flower (Kendall), Martin Perez (Brittany), and Angelia Cawthern (Seth); great grandchildren, Kenlee, Arleigh, Samuel and Allie; and sister-in-law, Joy Culbreth.

Judith received her undergraduate degree and master's degree from the University of Maryland. She earned her PHD in chemistry from Furman University. Judith retired from GE Company working in the Nuclear Fuel division in Wilmington. Judith also designed a computer program that was patented.

Upon retirement Judith volunteered at the Senior Center where she crocheted many hats and tiny sweaters for newborn infants at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later time.
