Judy Kelly Sawyer, age 73, went to be with the Lord December 16, 2016.

Judy was born April, 13, 1943 in Bladen County, NC the daughter of the late Sinclair Kelly and Hattie Russ Kelly.

Judy had an artistic soul and enjoyed all things beautiful. She loved to travel and made friends for life wherever she went. She was a loyal and devoted friend who doted on her grandchildren.

Judy worked at the UNCW book store, the New Hanover Board of Elections, and Volunteered at New Hanover County schools. She was a longtime member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the kitchen. She also volunteered at Good Shepherd and the domestic violence shelter.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Louis Henry Sawyer, Sr.; son, Louis Henry Sawyer, Jr. (Erin) of Carolina Beach; daughter, Jennifer Sawyer Brunson (Bobby) of Wilmington; sisters, Carol Vereen (Leo), Janice Corbett, and Rita Benjey; grandchildren, Dylan, Casey, Cassidy, Elle, Aspen, Ireland, and Bryce, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Judith Louise Sawyer; sister, Dorothy Reher, and brother Bobby Kelly.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church in Wilmington, NC. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Reverend Trish Archer and Reverend Doctor Tim Reeves will officiate.

Burial will follow the service at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
