Judy Irene Thompson, 64, of Rocky Point, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed gently from her earthly life Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her home.

She was born September 5, 1955 in Burgaw, the daughter of the late Vernon "Red" Basden and Betty Boswell Oliver. Also remembered is her husband, Michael Lee Thompson, Sr. who preceded Judy in death.

Judy is survived by her sons, Michael Thompson, Jr. and wife Mindy of Rocky Point, Jason Thompson and wifeShannon of Burgaw, and Donald Thompson of the home; grandchildren, Brian Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Heather Thompson, Little Michael Thompson, Logan Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Nicole Thompson, Nevaeh Thomson. She is also survived by sisters, Linda Oliver Miles and Debbie Fowler; brothers, Joe Oliver and Buddy Watkins; cousin/sister, Pam Anderson; and many extended family and friends.

Many will remember Judy's kindness, good cooking, and many years working at Reade's Restaurant in Burgaw.

Judy enjoyed collecting dolphins, Indians, and family trips to the mountains.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the people who helped Judy during her battle; Tina Bain, Theresa Mauldin, Jetaun Myers, and Lillian Scott.

A family graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Thompson Family Cemetery,  3820 Piney Woods Road, Willard, with The Rev. Tom Canady conducting the service.
